TV Show of the Year
I'm kicking off the the Best of 2005 Week with Television. Oh so much happened this year in TV. We said good-bye to a favorite and hello to some new mainstays. I've been able to measure my favorite shows of the year by how much I miss them when their season finishes or when repeats take over. I was so certain Lost would be the front runner but I must admit the excitement of last season didn't carry over. In fact it was not until the most recent episode of Lost that I felt the groove had returned.
Saying good-bye to an old friend, a TV show that ended in a way that we have never seen before, was the hardest thing to do during this TV year. This show's innovation, genius, and angst makes it #1. Gone but oh so not forgotten.
My#1 TV show of 2005 is ...
Six Feet Under
The Xtinefiles 2005 top 5 in TV is:
#1: Six Feet Under
#2: Lost
#3: Medium
#4: Over There
#5: Rescue Me
Debate. Discuss.

As shocked as I am that "Veronica Mars" is NOT on your list... I am even more shocked that "Lost" IS on your list.
That show just drags on and on and on and on... with no resolution to anything in sight. If they ever bother to wrap up some of the long-standing questions and move on to something more interesting, I might start watching again. As it is, I am totally bored by it all.
Totally agree with "Six Feet Under" though. The last episode alone makes it deserving of your top spot. The last ten minutes haunt me even to this day.
I'd probably fit Grey's Anatomy and Entourage in there somewhere if it were my list.

Grey's Anatomy would be #6 if this list went to 6. My concern with GA is that there is no story, just the same conflicts being spun over and over- still a great show though.
I think I've said this before, but I'm not sure about here... I'm the same way regarding Lost. A couple of the more recent episodes have been good, but it took a long time for me to get back into it again this season. Although, as of this moment, I don't think the show would be a top fiver for me. Well, I guess I'd have to include episodes from last season that were aired in '05, wouldn't I, for this to be a "Best of 2005" list? Okay, yeah, it would be on there.
MiB- I cant believe you tagged me...I will participate in that charade after the Best of 2005 Week is over.
I'll put the plug in for Over There. It might not have been totally realistic, but it was good enough to help people understand.
It was nice to see you stopped by on Yossarian's Catch, Xtine! a pleasant surprise to see you around.

Over There and Rescue Me are two shows I've wanted to get into but keep forgetting to watch. They both look great. So much to watch, so little time.
I loved the first season of Rescue Me but felt it just started to lose it toward the end of season two. I hope it gets back on track.
Maybe it's a guilty pleasure, but I'm completely addicted to Project Runway again. Makes me want to learn to sew and make my own trousers.
And The Shield is about to come back...and The Sopranos in 3 months. Those are the two I'm waiting for.
